Lyrics

Ending Brings Beginning
By Frank Meyer

Verse 1:
Ed and Sue got married
Back in 1969
Children came quite quickly
A new life was defined.
Family trips, school events
Occupied their days
When the youngest left the nest
A new life came their way.
Ed found some blocks of wood
Gathered all his tools
Started carving images
Something he learned back in school.
Sue picked up her brushes
She had not done this in years
The paintings she created
At times would evoke tears.

Chorus:
Nothing lasts forever
Everything must change
Ending brings beginning
And a time to rearrange
New doors to open
Where to go, what to do
When one thing fades away
It leads to something new

Verse 2:
Ed and Sue left their day jobs
Bought themselves a van
Packed up all their artwork
To spread it throughout the land.
Well-received at all the shows
Always invited back
Their fans kept growing
With a long list of contacts.
When Ed and Sue tired
Of setting up and tearing down
They decided it was time
To head back to their home town.
There they just worked from home
Created all the time
Still connected with their fans
But it was done on-line.

Chorus

Instrumental Break

Verse 3:
Sue sits on the back porch
Staring at the lawn
The empty chair next to her
No longer hums a song.
She knows she must move on
She has to start anew
Here come those same old questions
Where to go and what to do.

Chorus
When one thing fades away
It leads to something new
